Explore Texas Through the World's Largest Museum Without Walls!

Starting in 2007, the San Jacinto Texas Historic District's fifteen communities located in Harris County, Texas began implementing a unique master plan called Project Stars. The plan provides permanent displays of colorful historic "Texas size" public art along major corridors leading to the famous San Jacinto battleground, site where in 1836, settlers won a battle that enabled them to establish the grand Republic of Texas.

Soon tourists traveling from the nearby Bayport Cruise terminals or from other directions will enjoy a "chance in a lifetime" driving tour that tells the history stories of this unique region which is home to the "Energy Capital of the World". Imagine driving alongside giant oil storage tanks adorned with epic authentic public art depicting the emotions of the Texas Army's final approach to the battle that would determine their fate.

Called the Museum Without Walls... you''ll want to see the first piece called "Destiny" unveiled April 16. This 40 foot by 70 foot size art is located on one of the corridors, Texas Highway 225. Scores of other public art are planned for unveiling in 2007 on these main corridors.
